Lake Arrowhead Trails


Most residents and visitors to Lake Arrowhead will take advantage of the water activities the Lake makes available. It´s important to remember that Lake Arrowhead is home to a cornucopia of natural, recreational activities. Another popular past time in Lake Arrowhead is hiking. Take advantage of the great outdoors close to your property or vacation home today.

First and foremost it is important that you pick up an Adventure Pass before heading out to your hike. This inexpensive pass benefits the Forest Service allowing them to keep active a number of programs and conservation efforts. This pass is $5 for the day, $30 for the year and allows you to park in designated lots close to most of the trails you´ll see mentioned here and throughout the San Bernardino, Angles, Los Padres and Cleveland National Forests.

Crab Creek Trail - This moderately difficult trail covers two and a half miles of the San Bernardino forest and is the primary access point to Fisherman´s Camp. The trail crosses Crab Creek and Deep Creek. The trail begins a little over a mile west of the Crab Flats Campground.

Crab Flats Trail - Another moderately difficult trail just slightly east of the Crab Treek trail, Crab Flats trail is a definite must see. This is a 1.3 mile trail, while short, provides some of the best variety of the San Bernardino forest in the Lake Arrowhead area.

Indian Rock Trail - Just east of Rock Camp on Highway 173, Indian Rock trail is a half mile trail that leads to bedrock that was once used by the Serrano Indians. You can pick acorns just like Lake Arrowheads original residents did.

Little Green Valley Trail - This one and a half mile trail is only for experienced hikers. Beginning off of Highway 18, the trail covers one and a half miles of rough, climbing terrain. It´s well worth the trip though as it provides unmatched views of Slide Peak and Snow Valley.
